Te Araroa – Logistics

As Winter steadily fades into Spring, the approach of our Te Araroa hike draws ever closer. Logistics have been mulled over for the last month or so, and it’ll soon be time for getting plans finalised… I was intending to blog in greater depth on the subject of logistics and planning, however having seen the already great blogs out there it seemed my efforts may just be a replication of already very well informed usable information (and anyway I do a lot of thinking and not so much note making). So, if you are looking to plan the TA, here are three key resources that we’ve been using:

1. The Te Araroa Trust

2. Tramping New Zealand Blog

3. Crossing Aotearoa Blog

In the meantime we’ve been busy getting some training hikes in and preparing our kit. On top of the local walks mention HERE, we’ve also logged miles on Roys Peak in Wanaka, Saw Pit Vally in Arrowtown and along the coast on Banks peninsula. Time will tell how well prepared we are, the clock is definitely ticking…
